Director of Fabrication is responsible for leading and building the fabrication team for one or more large custom Orthotic and Prosthetic fabrication facilities. Director is responsible for the financial performance of operations including the management of labor, materials and overhead. Position includes directing supervisory teams with daily operations to provide high quality class I and II devices to the O&P market and fostering customer relationships. Responsibilities also include a wide range of administration, engineering, regulatory, compliance, recruiting and training requirements.

    Plan and coordinate resources to achieve financial objectives while continuously improving quality and service to our customers.
  • Work with and facilitate product cross-functional relationships to lead and participate in large transformational projects effectively.
  • Coordinate and complete long-term projects to expand services to customers, improve quality, provide automation, and / or reduce costs, in addition to operational duties for the facility.
  • Develop and nurture a high-performance leadership team consisting of proactive supervisors, managers and / or technical specialists.
  • Build operational resilience and agility through clear performance goals, standard SOP's, OJT / cross-training, feedback and accountability, and flexible staffing practices.
  • Lead new and existing products, engineering processes/projects, and implement lean manufacturing methods and techniques to meet/exceed productivity targets, while maintaining the highest quality.
  • Drive customer relationships and monitor communication to meet customers' needs and expectations, and ensure issues are resolved within established service level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and other governmental rules and regulations, and adherence to all administrative and financial policies and procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with training, motivating, and coaching direct reports.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects as well as ongoing production work.
  • Must be proficient in Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Track record of successful customer facing activities and retention.
  • Basic knowledge of LEAN principles
  • Must understand and utilize Hanger policies and procedures to implement change in compliance with values and operating principles.

Job Complexity:

Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • BA / BS in engineering, business or another related field - OR - an equivalent combination of education and experience -OR - Degree in Orthotics/Prosthetics
  • A minimum of five (5) years' production operations experience at the manager / director level within a manufacturing / engineering fabrication or clinical center directing a staff of 30 or more employees

Preferred:

  • MBA or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of Orthotic and / or Prosthetic fabrication and/or clinical experience
  • Multiple-site management experience

Pay range of $128,000.00 -$192,500.00 (salary range)+ bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with CaliforniaLaw. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
