Our ideal candidate

The Indirect Auto Program Administrator acts as the primary liaison between indirect dealer partners, lending business partners, and the Credit Union. The position is responsible for establishing new relationships and enhancing existing relationships with selected dealerships throughout Arizona to help grow and maintain the indirect lending portfolio of the Credit Union. The Indirect Auto Program Administrator consistently improves and enhances the Indirect Auto Program's operations and efficiency.


A typical day might include the following

  • Manage all aspects of the indirect lending program and operations, including implementation of the Credit Union's indirect growth strategy, business development, indirect lending operations, and member satisfaction.
  • Monitor and track the performance of the Indirect Auto Program.
  • Regularly communicate program details including credit terms, rates, and changes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively recommend and implement changes and enhancements to the indirect program that align with the Credit Union's strategic goals.
  • Optimize the structure of the program to ensure the Credit Union is competitive in terms of interest rates, dealer reserve levels, terms, and credit parameters.
  • Be a brand ambassador by managing an assigned dealer base, working to promote the indirect program through education of our lending strategy, including underwriting guidelines and funding requirements, with a focus on membership growth, credit risk, delinquencies and other issues.
  • Develop prospects and additional business from current dealer network within assigned territories, referral leads, and other resources.
  • Continually review and assess dealer relationships to ensure mutually-beneficial partnerships and terminate those that do not serve the Credit Union's overall interests due to non-compliance or poor performance.
  • Advocate for members and indirect lending dealers to ensure all receive prompt, efficient, courteous, and professional service; and that member and dealer issues and concerns are resolved promptly and courteously.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge of and compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures relating to consumer loans. Maintain technical knowledge and awareness of federal and state laws affecting area of responsibility.
  • Support the underwriting and funding teams with complex situations and help resolve lien titling issues to mitigate unperfected liens.
  • Assist branch associates working with members via direct & indirect channels to ensure dealer relations is maintained for member experience optimization.
  • Work closely with other Credit Union business areas to strategize and promote a progressive indirect auto program that aligns with organizational initiatives.
  • Act as the expert in all areas related to Credit Union Dealer Lending (CUDL). Regularly attend training sessions, forums and other CUDL events. Train other Credit Union staff in relevant areas relating to CUDL.
  • Represent the Credit Union at appropriate trade association meetings or special dealership events to promote the Credit Union. These events may require some evening, weekend, or holiday hours.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of similar or related experience. 5+ years of experience in indirect lending business development or other equivalent experience within the dealer market or auto financing industry required.
  • Consumer underwriting experience preferred. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of indirect lending business development, dealer market, and auto financing industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, sales, and business development skills.
