DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is an emerging leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of utility scale solar plants. DEPCOM is looking for a SCADA Technical Lead to join the team that can work well in a fast paced environment. This position can be based in Scottsdale, AZ or remotely within the U.S. with travel.

This role will require approximately 40-60% travel based on business needs.

This role does not provide VISA sponsorship.


Our Team

DEPCOM's SCADA team is composed of individuals with a diverse background in engineering, construction, operations, and project management. We are focused on designing and developing HMI/SCADA systems that allow our partners to leverage the full capabilities of their renewable generation site.

The SCADA team collaborates with other business units through the full lifecycle of the project to develop creative solutions, utilizing new and existing technology, that meet customer requirements.


What You Will Do

  • Function as the SCADA team representative in engineering and technical design updates and discussions
  • Coordinate technical reviews with SCADA suppliers, customers and the Commissioning team, including project schedule and cost, to ensure milestones are achieved and requirements are met
  • Review technical specifications for the SCADA portion of the EPC contract and provide feedback and suggested edits as needed
  • Communicate and coordinate via a compliance matrix how the SCADA budget and schedule reflects meeting the EPC specifications
  • Develop subject matter expertise on the SCADA architecture for the substation, PV, BESS, and associated connected sensors and devices (i.e. MET, PCS, RTAC)
  • Support the PSS/E and PSCAD models for the Power Plant Controller coordinating customer questions and requests with the PPC supplier
  • Collaborate with the I&C Engineer in troubleshooting SCADA equipment that is not performing as required
  • Travel to the job site to verify installation, support the Commissioning team, and support the site acceptance testing


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Basic understanding of control systems and their associated instrumentation
  • Experience with the startup and commissioning of instrumentation and control equipment
  • Experience reviewing and presenting technical documentation to stakeholders


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in the design and start up of PV and/or BESS control systems
  • Experience using design tools to communicate design changes and as-builds (Bluebeam Review, ViewPoint for Projects, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering Labs, ignition software and basic networking

For this role, we anticipate paying $125,000 - $165,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
