We are currently seeking an experienced Sonic Drilling Field Supervisor to join our Boart Longyear team based in Glendale, Arizona.

Candidates with a demonstrated history of working to strict safety and quality standards in a field leadership capacity are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have a mature attitude towards safety and possess a strong team-leadership focus. A passion for drilling and a hardworking attitude is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years of drilling experience at a supervisory level
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Training and Assessment Qualifications or relevant experience
  • Strong communicator and commitment to leading by example
  • Willing to work geographically throughout the US (including Alaska) in various states where we do business.
  • Able to commute long distances for shifts (300+ miles)
  • Willing to work in remote locations and in all-weather elements
  • Willing to work at job sites for extended period of time, 12+ hour shifts for 14-20 days at a time
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Must have valid U.S. Work Authorization
  • Must pass background and drug screening
  • Must pass a Physical Functional Fitness Evaluation

Responsibilities

  • Provides safety leadership and assists team members with the development of thorough risk assessments, critical control verifications and job safety analysis.
  • Ensuring all operations are conducted in line with relevant legislations and standards
  • Provides ongoing coaching to develop the team, including addressing performance and conduct issues
  • Coordinate and allocate work as required to meet drilling plans and run rates
  • Ensuring mechanical availability of assets through basic maintenance, reporting process, and effective prestart and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Liaise with the project leader regarding the progress of the drilling program
  • Conduct reviews of employee performance
  • Participate in toolbox and safety meetings and take immediate action on feedback
  • Leads investigations of incidents/hazard management issues
  • Must have a complete knowledge of mechanics as related to drill rigs, diesel, and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical
  • Willingness and ability to work with our modern drill fleet, which includes hands free technology.
  • Ability to meet 100% compliance to Boart Longyear and Customer Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Excellent in communicating with clients and be able to work positively with others
