Job Description:

The Senior Semiconductor Diffusion Equipment Technician will perform preventive maintenance for several toolsets, including the AVP, Tempress Horizontal, WJ and SVG Furnance & Watkins-Johnson Deposition toolsets and support the Equipment Engineering Group at Microchip Fab 2 in Tempe, AZ.

This is a CWW (compressed workweek) front-nights shift, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, swing every other Saturday, 6:00pm to 6:30am, 12 hour shifts with 18% shift differential. Great Benefits begin on first day of hire.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Posses an ASEE or ASET degree or Military Equivalent.
  • Greater than ten years of experience working in the semiconductor manufacturing Diffusion/CVD/TF area.
  • Skilled and experienced in mentorship and training of junior technicians.
  • Follow written PM specifications and Original Equipment Manufacturer's manuals to disassemble, adjust, calibrate, and repair equipment.
  • Document information in electronic format (Excel, Maintenance Tracking System, Outlook, etc.)
  • Apply appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to identify common failures of complex electromechanical machines and subassemblies.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of electronic component operations.
  • Provide input to assist with development and optimization of equipment preventive maintenance schedules and tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow chemical safety procedures and protocols.
  • Utilization of various test instrumentation (oscilloscope, DVM, helium leak-checker, RF calibration, etc.)
  • Must pass ERT physical and participate on ERT team.
  • Must be willing to travel for training purposes.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS and WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Mandatory ERT physical including team participation as an active member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Essential Physical Functions and working conditions - Must be able to:
    • Lift 75 lbs
    • Work in full PPE gown, gloves, face shield for long periods
    • Work on a 6 foot ladder
    • Bend, stretch and contort to repair items on the tool. Work bent over with head and arms below waist level
    • Work on knees or lay down to repair tool
    • Required to use a respirator
    • Use basic hand tools
    • Standing on hard surfaces for long periods on metal or concrete floors
