What you'll do:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Concentration Risk Management Director to lead the development and management of our concentration risk program. This key role will focus on credit, concentration, and counterparty risk within our portfolio. As the Director, you will collaborate with line of business leaders to establish and enforce portfolio-level limits, ensuring alignment with business strategies and adherence to the limit framework. As a leader, you will ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, you will maintain concentration risk management policies and procedures. Additionally, you will oversee household and financial counterparty risk management programs, ensuring their effectiveness in mitigating potential risks.

This position will manage a small team (3-5) and is within the first line of defense Credit Administration Group.

What we are looking for:

  • Develop and manage the concentration risk management program, focusing on credit, concentration, and counterparty risk within the portfolio.
  • Establish and enforce portfolio-level limits in collaboration with a line of business leaders, ensuring adherence to the limit framework and alignment with business strategies.
  • Leverage quantitative models and their results to define limits and implement risk mitigation measures, reducing unexpected losses in the portfolio.
  • Take a lead role in developing, implementing, and mobilizing risk appetite measures, KPIs, and early warning indicators.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to establish breach and mitigation plans, presenting findings to risk committees and corresponding with the second line of defense partners.
  • Work closely with the first line of defense to establish, measure, and monitor concentration limits, presenting recommendations to risk committees.
  • Enhance analysis and reporting of concentration risk, encompassing identification, measurement, limit calibration, and overall risk management.
  • Maintain concentration risk management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee household and financial counterparty risk management programs, ensuring their effectiveness in mitigating potential risks.

What you need to have:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in credit administration, credit risk management, or concentration risk management, preferably within a large financial institution.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management programs, with a focus on credit, concentration, and counterparty risk.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage quantitative models for risk assessment and decision-making.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with line of business leaders, risk committees, and the first line of defense.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lead and drive initiatives that align with business strategies while mitigating concentration risk.
  • Proactive in identifying emerging risks and implementing measures to address them.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mobilize cross-functional teams for successful risk management implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial credit underwriting, including a strong understanding of financial analysis, risk assessment, and industry-specific credit evaluation.
  • Proficient in handling and analyzing large datasets, demonstrating advanced analytical capabilities and the ability to derive meaningful insights to inform strategic decision-making.
