How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Property Tax Manager is responsible for working with the Director of Property Tax, Property Tax Analyst and supporting businesses concerning real and personal property tax matters, compliance, controls, payments, internal and external tax audits, tax appeals/assessments, economic incentive benefits, and budgets.
  • Manage the process for property tax compliance and other property tax matters (returns, assessments,appeals, payments, audits etc.), assists in pursuing economic incentive opportunities, and has acquired knowledge in tax and non-tax ERP systems such as PTMS and Oracle.

  • Responsible for, property tax accrual accounting analysis and ensuring budgets for forgoing functions is complete and accurate.

  • Manage, train, advise and review staff work product for accuracy and completeness. Set goals, manage performance and expectations.

  • Ensure all business personal property and real property tax payments are made timely.

  • Assists Director of Property Tax, Government Affairs and Business Development teams with economic incentives for ongoing and prospective investment associated with new facilities and/or expansion.

  • Responsible for continuous process improvements associated with property tax.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with offshore Shared Services model for critical asset reporting data, accounting and accounts payable.

  • Deliver results by communicating, engaging, and working with teammates through effective performance management, implementing continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus; and embodying company purpose and values to inspire others to perform at their best.

  • Property tax knowledge and prepare, manage, and file material value property tax filings for all Company assets within PTMS.

  • Property valuation background and understanding for industrial, manufacturing, chemical, and process plants.

  • Assist and manage for the successful outcomes on property tax audits.

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure and within timeline constraints

  • Ability to work with local property tax authorities.

  • Assist the Director of Property Tax and lead Property Tax Analyst with compliance, payments, audit responses and preparation for mitigating the Company's property tax obligations.

  • Assist incentives and property tax appeals/assessments for the benefit of the Company.

  • Manage and help drive process improvements and project management best practices to ensure a continuous streamline process for property tax filings.

  • Able to establish strong internal relationships; demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and communication with state and local taxing jurisdictions.

  • Demonstrate accounting, analytical skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge and exposure to multijurisdictional property tax laws / regulations across the United States.

  • Acquire system knowledge of PTMS and Oracle.

  • Organized and forward-thinking mindset to ensure internal and external deadlines are met.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%, on average, as required to perform duties.

  • Effective problem solving, verbal and written communication skills are critical.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge acquired through 10-12 years of demonstrated experience in property tax.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred. Accredited appraiser certification (i.e., ASA), although preferred, is not necessary.
