Our Phoenix, AZ office is seeking the position of an Construction Manager focused on supporting continued growth in our construction services market. The primary duties of the Construction Manager will include serving as our onsite representative for construction management and observation activities. The Construction Manager will be expected to lead construction management services on small to medium size projects, support construction management team efforts on large projects and provide periodic construction observation. The successful candidate will excel at communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, understand and interpret construction contract documents, and be an effective problem solver. This position will be expected to provide support to drinking water treatment business development initiatives.

In the role of Construction Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Monitor construction activities, resolve problems and issues which arise, especially those pertaining to changes, deficiencies and/or contractor performance.
  • Maintain accurate daily record of construction site activities and produce required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status
  • Meet with owner representatives, contractors, engineers, and other consultants to review project progress and discuss, resolve, and follow-up on issues that arise
  • Prepare progress meeting agendas, facilitate meetings, and prepare accurate meeting minutes
  • Review, comment, and recommend approval or rejection of submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and project schedules
  • Ensure project management documentation is properly administered, received, logged, and filed
  • Work on small projects, or as support to more-senior staff on larger, more complex projects
  • Coordinate with other project team groups such as design, procurement and accounting
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Construction Science or closely related field
  • 5 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including but not limited to estimating, bidding, preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, and cost control
  • Ability to read to read and understanding plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract language
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and MS Excel
  • Experience with construction management software packages, such as Prolog, Procore, eBuilder, Primavera, etc.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Ability to pass a background check to obtain security badge for secure facilities
  • Demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication competencies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with water infrastructure projects is strongly preferred
  • Construction or design certifications
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various phases of design and construction and provide timely responses to issues as they arise.
  • Excellent organizational skills
