Job Description

The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise to identify, resolve and eliminate quality issues and problems.


The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ or Sidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of the Customer Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Interface with customers to address product quality concerns, actions, and improvements.
  • Advocate for Continuous Improvement and Zero Defect Mission of related manufacturing and business processes.
  • Analyze and discuss quality concerns with assigned manufacturing departments.
  • Develop a technical proficiency and communicate thoroughly with customers.
  • Identify, prioritize, and address all significant and repetitious quality problems.
  • Utilize LEAN principles and Six Sigma Methodology in pursuit of the Amphenol Aerospace Zero Defect Mission.
  • Complete failure analysis on customer returns, organize containment activities, and issue corrective actions.
  • Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal Corrective Actions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol's Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures.
  • Work extensively with Amphenol's computer system, both the AS400 main frame and the local PC network.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Customer Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Four year degree in Engineering discipline or similar degree
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, computer fluency, and interpersonal skills
  • Applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software
  • Some lifting and carrying of small loads may be required
  • 25% travel required, ability to travel to the other plants and/or customer facilities as needed
